IT Modernization and Digital Transformation

C-suite leaders across the world are navigating how they can keep pace with the changing needs of their customers and employees, with priorities shifting for e-commerce, digital selling, customer support, and employee wellbeing and engagement. In a recent article for The Enterprisers Project, Shabnoor Shah outlines some top leadership imperatives for 2021, including:

  • Becoming more collaborative digital leaders

Given these priorities, digital transformation is expected to be an urgent priority for most companies in 2021. Peter Bendor-Samuel outlines some of the top challenges for companies prioritizing digital transformation in his article for Forbes, Post-COVID IT Modernization And Talent Shortage.

Teams prioritizing digital transformation should also ensure they implement DevOps practices within their IT teams for maximum efficiency. Venky Chennapragada explains how organizations can adopt DevOps in a recent article for InformationWeek, Why DevOps is Critical to Digital Transformation.

The push for modernization extends to the public sector as well. Brandon Edenfield of GCN provides more detail on why government agencies should prioritize digital transformation this year in The Time is Now: Why Government Can’t Put off Modernization.

Business Reliability and Security

In security news this week, a researcher using a novel supply chain attack hacked into the internal systems at a number of major companies, including Apple, Yelp, Tesla, and Microsoft. Sarah Coble provides more details about the vulnerability in a recent Infosecurity Magazine article, Researcher Hacks Apple and Microsoft.

Attackers also exposed a security flaw at Plex Media this week that allows them to exploit Plex to reflect and amplify DDoS attacks. Lance Whitney of TechRepublic shares how network operators can better protect their infrastructure in the article, DDoS-for-Hire Services are Exploiting Plex Media Flaw to Amplify their Attacks.
