Combining NS1 and Alfred to do cool things

We love real-time data. It quickly confirms that traffic is flowing and gives a snapshot of current traffic levels. In fact, when you login to our customer portal, one of the first things you’ll see is your current queries per second (QPS).

We’re also big fans of Alfred, the highly configurable launcher for OSX.

As a lazy Sunday afternoon experiment, we decided to write a neat little workflow for Alfred, to pull real-time QPS using NSONE’s comprehensive API.

The result is incredibly simple, but an elegant, fast, way to see your real-time QPS. Just type in a keyword…

If you’d like to use Alfred with NSONE, here are some useful links:

  • Grab our workflow at Packal, an Alfred workflow repository. You’ll need to buy the Alfred Powerpackto be able to use workflows.
  • Our contrib section on github for integrations. Includes our Alfred workflow and other useful scripts.

If you need a hand generating your API key and getting things working, we’re at your service. Just say hi.
